Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is simple but sophisticated, an evidence-based and solution-focused approach to help you focus on the changes you want, rather than what you don’t want, and is widely considered to be the gold standard in hypnotherapy training. It is a brilliant combination of solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), which is a brain-based talking therapy, and hypnosis. It takes lessons learnt from positive psychology, neuroscience, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), and utilises a natural, relaxed and solution-focused state of mind to help you reach your true potential or change a behavioural pattern or habit. During weekly sessions we will focus on what you aim to achieve rather than the problems that prompted you to seek change, and utilise the natural state of trance to help effect deep and lasting change.
Hypnosis, or trance, is more like deep relaxation than deep sleep or the realms of mind control. You will not do anything you do not wish to do and it can change a person only as much as they want to be changed. Therefore, hypnotherapy enables you to achieve the things you want in life and it’s teamwork.
As you are in a more relaxed state, you are more able to focus and accept the suggestions put to you, and you access a part of you that is on a veritable mission to find the solutions, even while you sleep. It is the natural harnessing of focused thought, which is a powerful state of learning and transformation, and you are simply guided into that relaxed state by being asked to focus your mind and allow yourself to imagine the benefits of change.
